Job Purpose
Performs professional technical, administrative, and managerial research work. Performs independent or supervisory roles in research activities requiring an advanced level of knowledge in a field of science, Use computers, laboratory and technical equipment to perform data analysis, statistical analysis, and technical evaluation of research experiments and results. Summarize results for inclusion in scientific and clientele oriented publications.
Job Duties
- Strictly adhere to lab Quality Processes and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Preparation of NGS libraries (whole genome, exome, panels, etc.)
- Work in clinical diagnostics related processes, workflow, assay performance and testing
- Taking part in CAP and other accreditation affairs
- Responsible for all the QCs which include agarose gel electrophoresis, NanoDrop and Qubit for DNA and preparation of the reports.
- Responsible for the separation of PBMCs from the blood samples, making aliquots with proper labelling and storing for DNA and RNA extraction in future
- Follow CAP related activities and CAP compliance in the workplace
- Coordinating with the manager to ensure seamless workflow in the lab
- Maintain cordial working relationship with everyone in the company
- Maintaining inventory, ordering reagents and ensuring the lab is in order
- Test optimizations where required
- Any other responsibilities assigned by the Manager
- Reporting to: Sr Scientist / Associate Scientist, Location: MedGenome Bangalore office
Functional/Technical Skills
- Work Experience – 1+ years of relevant work experience
- Knowledge of reference laboratory business, diagnostic tests and processes
- The ability to work across teams and functions effectively
Educational Qualification
- BSc with DMLT or an MSc from any stream of life Science from a recognised University
- BSc with DMLT should have a minimum of 1 to 3 years experience and OR MSc with 3 years experience in a diagnostic lab
- PHD
