Designation: Research Associate

Job Purpose

We are looking for an ambitious and energetic who will work both independently and as part of a collaborative team to generate data from various genomics-oriented workflows and assist in the optimization and validation of new technologies and procedures. Must be creative, detail oriented, have excellent communication skills and be willing to work in a dynamic entrepreneurial environment.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Handling and accessioning patient specimens (Blood, Tissue, Nucleic acids etc.)
  • Handling of infectious materials (Infectious pathogens) for genetic testing
  • Preparation of nucleic acids for downstream process (but not limited to)
  • Nucleic acid (DNA/RNA) extractions from biological materials & quality check
  • Processing samples for PCR, qPCR, fragment analysis & other molecular biology techniques
  • Processing samples for NGS and Sanger sequencing
  • Participating in the laboratory quality management programs
  • Developing standard operating procedures (SOP)
  • Maintaining good quality and accuracy on work. Processing samples within TAT as per SOP and policy
  • Carry out genomic data analysis, interpretation, and reporting
  • Taking part in CAP and other accreditation affairs & Follow CAP related activities and CAP compliance in the workplace
  • Any other responsibilities assigned by the Manager/Company

Qualification

  • Bachelors/Master’s in science
  • Excellent academic track record and technical acumen

Experience

  • 1 – 4 years of relevant experience
  • Dedication to create and apply an effective sales strategy
  • The ability to work across teams and functions effectively
