The position will be responsible for Linux Server Management within the system environment. It will be an individual contributor role. We are looking for a Linux administrator who will be responsible for monitoring the infrastructure; also, to collaborate with other team members to develop automation strategies and deployment processes. You will become an integral part of the team, making every problem of the platform a problem of your own, and solving them accordingly
Job responsibilities:
- Installing, supporting, and maintaining new server hardware and software infrastructure
- Managing email, anti-spam, and virus protection
- Setting up user accounts, permissions, and passwords
- Installing and troubleshooting Apache/Jboss related issue
- Configuration of LVM, Resize of LVM and troubleshooting LVM related issues
- Configuring and troubleshooting of NFS
- Automating the task using Shell scripting
- Monitoring network usage
- Analysing and resolving faults, ranging from a major system crash to a forgotten password
- Undertaking routine preventative measures and implementing, maintaining, and monitoring
- Network security, particularly if the network connects to the internet
- Providing training and technical support for users with varying levels of IT knowledge and competence
- Working closely with other departments/organizations and collaborating with other IT staff
- Planning and implementing future IT developments and undertaking project work
- Managing the website and keeping internal networks running
Desired Skills and Qualification
- 6-8 years of experience in Linux Administration
- Apache, Shell scripting
- Should have strong OS administration skills on Linux
- Maintenance and monitoring of Databases (MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MSSQL etc…)
- Red Hat Enterprise and Ubuntu Servers. DNS, LDAP, NIS, SAMBA
- BTech/ BE Graduate in Linux administration related to the responsibilities of the position
